Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking an experienced EPLI Project Analyst to assist with the implementation and oversight of various legal project management and client service initiatives in support of our EPLI carrier clients and insured clients.

The EPLI Project Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s EPLI litigation group. This position ensures complete and accurate insured matter set up, facilitates matter intake and allocation of legal resources, tracks staffing metrics, monitors both panel and non-panel rate agreements, and provides analytical support to optimize matter handling and firm operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with multiple stakeholders including attorneys, paralegals, clients, and insurers.

This position can be performed on a fully remote or hybrid basis from any of the firm’s U.S. offices and reports to the EPLI Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Working with the EPLI Project Manager to support the Firm’s service delivery to key clients, including, but not limited to, the following:

Matter Intake & Setup

  • Complete the new business intake form, seek out key insurance information required for successful matter setup, and work with the conflicts and new business teams to facilitate matter opening.
  • Seek out additional policy information or outside counsel guidelines needed for the successful implementation of new matters.

Staffing & Resource Allocation

  • Work with relationship partners to provide data and recommendations regarding matter assignments.
  • Monitor workload for balance and effectively report on capacity and expertise availability.
  • Participate in the establishment of core teams by client to ensure that clients are getting consistent and knowledgeable service.

Analytics, Reporting & Forecasting

  • Generate regular dashboards/reports: e.g. active EPLI matters, closed matters, against SIR, etc.
  • Create budgets for EPLI matters and track progress against them using established firm tools.
  • Monitor rates for both panel and non-panel relationships to ensure accurate application and timely updates
  • Work with the billing and EPLI teams to support the recapture of fees billed and disputed by clients.
  • Forecast resource needs (staff hours, costs) for open and incoming matters.

Operations & Process Management

  • Maintain matter management systems and tools, including matter status reporting as required by carriers and clients
  • Assist in developing or maintaining workflows for EPLI cases (e.g. steps from intake to resolution).
  • Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in handling EPLI work, and suggest or help implement improved tools, workflows, templates. etc.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with internal firm standards and external requirements (billing and other outside counsel guidelines, including time capture, assignment limitations, approvals for exceptions, and more).
  • Gain a strong understanding of fee and billing arrangements for assigned clients and ensure compliance with those agreements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of legal billing software such as BillBlast, and eBilling vendors such as Legal Tracker and Tymetrix 360.
  • Experience with Intapp OPEN or other New Business Intake applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external personnel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to delegate, manage resources, and effectively get work done through others.
  • Ability to think creatively and to innovate in a fast-paced environment subject to change, new technologies, and market disruptions.
  • Ability to glean key points and takeaways from guidelines, agreements, market and industry research, work product, and historical lessons learned in order to create succinct job aids that assist timekeepers in meeting client expectations.
  • Highly organized with the ability to effectively manage various projects and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Must possess superior judgment and discretion and be able to protect and maintain sensitive and highly confidential information.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to Firm offices and events, as needed.

Education, Experience & Certification Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree or paralegal certification required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a law firm, including two years working with the administrative side of insured matters, is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a large law firm strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working directly with attorneys supporting service delivery.
  • Previous experience with law firm billing systems and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated success supporting legal clients in a national, multi-office environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel in order to independently produce quality communications and presentations.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $90,00-$100,000. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
